Best Cup Sake? Cup Sake Champions 2005

cup sake labels

We have been following up on this rather new and trendy development of “cup” sake for a year or so. Cup sake is a 180 ml cup with a pull-top. We have heard some negative comments from kura and sake stores, especially about how difficult quality control can be during distribution. However, as a consumer, we find this cup sake very handy. In sake tasting for a small group or two of us, we find the one cup sake very convenient. Or, if you are like Te-chan, who loves to collect labels, this is a good way to find some interesting labels.

I just came across the article about the Champions Cup where they selected top 40 cup sake out of 187 in several categories.

Grand Pr ix
Hitohana Glass by Sawanotsuru
Delicious Prize
Fukuchitose
Okunomatsu Honjyo Karakuchi

I did not know there are so many cup sake now. I guess more labels to collect for Te-chan.
