Tokyu Precce: A general grocery store run by Tokyu with a good vegetable, spice, Asian foods, and meat selection. Most Precce and some Tokyu stores carry imported vegetables such as: rutabagas, celery roots, beets, rhubarb, fennel, butternut squash, artichoke, horseradish etc. at reasonable prices (at least for Japan) around ¥400 ($4) for a pound? Some vegetables seem to have passed their peak sometimes, though.
I like their meat selection, too, but fish and cheese seem to be pricey. They have a reasonable baking selection with flour mixes, chocolate, decorations, etc. They carry basic canned and dried Asian foods. The spice selection is relatively good.

Somebody tole me that Precc was owned by The American realtiler “Whole Foods” is this true? I told her “no”– it was owned by the Tokyu chain…

Posted by lesley | March 4, 2008, 8:55 pmHi Lesley,
Precce is part of Tokyu store group. I am not sure about it being owned by Whole Foods. I wish Whole Foods open a store here soon, though.
