Sake of the week #033: Wakatake Daiginjo Onikoroshi

After visiting Sake Nomi in Seattle and True Sake in San Francisco and finding out that one of their bestsellers, in two different cities in two different states, is Wakatake Onikoroshi, I just had to try it. Also, it was only last year that we had our sake bloggers’ summit right there at Wakatake in Shizuoka!

My next opportunity to get some was when I spotted a bottle at Kumako Ramen, a little eatery in San Jose Japantown. So, here it is. A big glass of Wakatake with San Jose tofu hiyayakko for Sunday brunch starter before a big bowl of tonkotsu ramen…

  1. Dear Etsuko (and Ted!)!
    Greetings!
Now that’s a long way to go and taste Shizuoka sake!
A big, big, big thank to both of you for organizing the Shizuoka Sake Tasting Sessions in Shizuoka this past week-end!
    A great success!
my friends are still talking a bout it, as well as the local media!
Looking forward to the next events!
    Cheers,
    Robert-Gilles
(with regards from marcus and Patrick!)

  2. Hi Robert-Gilles,
Isn’t it? Thank YOU for all your help with the sake tasting events. I just found out what happened on the second night from your blog. I really don’t know how it would have been possible without you, Suzuki-san, and everyone at the event. Big arigato gozaimasu!
