Go to Ratatouille for good French meals just off Kannai. This has been a favorite for Et-chan and Te-chan for several years. The people are wonderful. The dishes are simple ingredients transformed into delicious tastes. Treat yourself and someone else to a really good lunch starting at ¥1600 for the A course or ¥2200 for the B course.
Get our fifth podcast. So far Te-chan has been doing these himself, but we have a bit of Et-chan on the podcast today as well. If you are an English speaker, please don’t be put off by the brief recap of our order and some ambient restaurant sound in Japanese. Most of today’s podcast is still in English.

We started with two glasses of white wine, Alan Paret Viogner and Chardonnay, and two fresh oysters from Mie-ken.
Et-chan had the Honey Smoked Eel appetizer and Te-chan had the Trout and Salmon Marine with White Balsamico sauce. Delicious!
Te-chan had the 6 vegetable potage, but it looked so good he couldn’t take a photo. Sorry! Et-chan had the sazae with garlic.
Here is a shot of the master, Onda-chef, and one of his staff serving up Et-chan’s main course: Coq au Vin.
And, here is a closer look at this wonderful dish. I can hardly wait until Et-chan tries to make it at home. Look for another posting about this recipe soon.
I tried something a little off the beaten path: French Curry.
And, finally, it wouldn’t be a meal at Ratatouille without their tasty creme brullee, other desserts, and a nice cup of coffee.
Then, we walked up Motomachi in the afternoon sun, took detour through Yamate Park, and wandered through Chinatown on our way back to the train. Perfect.
