Time to start casting Tokyo food out to the Internet masses. Before telling you all about the many excellent dining, drinking, gourmandizing, and other consumption opportunities I face on a daily basis around the city, I better start with tonight’s dinner—leftovers.

Mmmm, but good leftovers.

Etsuko had prepared salmon marinee, crabcakes, and roast rack of lamb with pomegranate sauce served with sides of mashed pumpkin and roasted beets and parsnips for a dinner with friends last night. We finished off with some excellent desserts, too. Maybe if you are lucky, Et-chan will fill you in on the details of that meal. If she doesn’t, I’ll have to revisit that fine, fine repast in another post.

The leftover lamb bones and scraps went in the soup pot last night as we were cleaning up. It smelled good last night, but it smelled even better when I got home from work and E had added tomato, white beans, bay leaf, sage, thyme, cloves to make a really tasty soup. Mmmm. Leftovers are good. They better be because I think we’ll be having the rest tomorrow night, too.

But, I’m not complaining one bit—just the opposite.
